Farm solar panels across West Yorkshire
We survey farm and agricultural building roofs throughout West Yorkshire, model what each one can carry, and arrange the design, the grid application and the install through our MCS-certified partner.

What the data says about West Yorkshire
Modelled yield is not flat across West Yorkshire. Pontefract comes out at 846 kWh per kWp a year against 811 at Huddersfield, a spread of 35 kWh per kWp. On a 200 kWp farm array that difference is about 7,000 kWh a year, which is worth checking before accepting a generic saving figure.
Across the districts we cover in West Yorkshire the planning record lists 2 ground mounted and 17 roof mounted solar schemes. Ground mounted schemes tell you how the network here has treated field arrays; roof mounted ones are undercounted, because an array on a farm building rarely passes the reporting threshold. Connections across the county run through Northern Powergrid. Anything above 3.68 kW per phase needs a G99 application, and on rural feeders the incoming supply is often the real limit: a single phase supply caps the array whatever the roof would carry.
- Leeds 830 kWh/kWp
- Bradford 817 kWh/kWp
- Huddersfield 811 kWh/kWp
- Wakefield 837 kWh/kWp
- Halifax 812 kWh/kWp
- Dewsbury 835 kWh/kWp
- Pontefract 846 kWh/kWp
- Ilkley 813 kWh/kWp
